Packet Pick-up
You have to reach your minimum fundraising goal of $150 in order to pick-up your packet, NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be able to pick-up your rider packet on the date and locations listed below. Your rider packet will include your event t-shirt, rider number (you will not be able to ride without a rider number)and day of event instructions. You will be able to turn in cash or checks at packet pick-up. You will also be able to make credit card donations. You will be able to pick-up your packet on ride day if you are unable to make it to a packet pick-up location.
** Riders can pick-up a packet for another rider as long as the fundraising minimum has been met and you bring the filled-out emergency waiver form (attached).

Commonly Asked Questions
What time does the course close? The course will close at 3 pm. Please make sure that you have chosen a route that you can finish by that time. There will be no more ride support after that point if you chose not to take a SAG vehicle into the start if you are still on the course at that time.
Is there a cutoff for the 100 mile route? To ensure that all riders are off of the course by the 3 pm closing time, there will be a cutoff on the 100 mile route. If you have not reached 1458 and Buller Road by 10 am will be re-directed to the 63 mile course.
Can I change my route? You can change your route at anytime. There is no action required to change your route. Just arrive at the correct start time for the route you would like to do on the day of the event.
Where can I find route maps? You can find route maps on our local Houston Tour page. Route maps will also be available at packet pick-up and at the registration area on the day of the ride.
If someone would like to make a donation by check, who do they make the check out to? Please make all checks out to the American Diabetes Association.
Can I pick-up my packet if I have not met the $150 fundraising minimum? You can not pick-up your rider packet until you have met the required $150 fundraising minimum. You will be able to turn checks and cash at packet pick-up. You will also be able to make credit card donations.
Can I pick-up a packet for someone else? Yes, you can pick-up someone else’s packet as long as they have met their $150 fundraising minimum. You must also turn in an emergency contact for that person as well. I have attached the form for you. Our staff will fill in the rider number.
Do I need to wear my rider number (bib)? Every rider must wear their rider number. You will be identified by rider number when out on the course. If something happens, we need to be able quickly see your rider number and pull your personal information. Please wear your rider number.
Will someone be taking pictures along the route? Race Shots will be taken ride photos on the route. To ensure that you get the best photos and that you can be identified, please make sure you have your bib number on the front of your jersey and your helmet number on the front of your helmet. A link to your photos will be emailed to you.
Should I have my bike inspected? Every rider should have their bike inspected. It’s not required but encouraged.
Do I have to wear a helmet? Every rider must wear a helmet. I promise you will want to protect what’s inside your noggin!
What activities will be available on the day of the ride? Breakfast from My Fit Foods and coffee from Starbucks will be available before the ride. The Texas Beef Council is cooking-up some tasty brisket tacos. Lunch will be free for all of the riders. Non-riders can purchase lunch on the day of the event for a $5 donation to the ADA. Sugar-free sno cones and popcorn will be free for everyone. Live music will be taking place on the main stage. There will also be face painting, balloon animals and bounce houses for the kids. There will be a bungee run for all to play on.
Where can I and family and friends park? Parking will be available behind the dealership at Champion Nissan and at Katy Mills Mall. Please be advised that if you park at the dealership it will be on a grass lot. If you park at Katy Mills you will have to ride or walk down.
How does the registration process work on the day of the ride? Registration will be open 20-30 minutes before each start time. There will be three separate lines- Pre-registered (that’s you), Day of Registration (if you have anyone who wants to join the fun at the last minute) and Red Rider/ VIP’s. If you picked-up your packet before the day of event and you are not turning in money, you do not need to check-in. Please check-in if you still need to turn in cash, check or credit card donations. Please check-in if you still need to pick-up your packet.
How do I become a VIP? Every rider that has raised $1,000 by the day of the ride will be recognized as a VIP.
What is available for the VIP’s? VIPs will have access to the VIP tent that includes television screens and our posh potties. The VIP tent will have free massage therapists and wait staff to get your food and beverages.
How often will there be rest stops? Rest stops are placed every 8-12 miles. Water, Gatorade, snacks, and first aid will be available at each stop.
How do I qualify to get a jersey? Those riding that are living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, Red Riders, will receive a special jersey that says, “I’m riding with diabetes” as long as they reach the $150 fundraising minimum. All riders who raise $500 will qualify to receive the official Tour de Cure jersey which says, “Tour de Cure” on the front and “Houston” on the flanks.
When will I receive my official Tour de Cure jersey or any other prizes I have earned? You will be emailed a certificate to redeem your jersey or prize 4 weeks after the ride.
How does my team become a VIP team? Every team who raises $5,000 by Friday, September 14th will have a 10 x 10 team tent in the rider village. Every team who raises $10,000 or more by Friday, September 14th will receive a 10 x 10 team tent and their own massage therapist.
When will I receive my Red Rider jersey (those riding with type 1 or type 2 diabetes)? You will be able to pick-up your jersey at the VIP/ Red Rider dinner. If you are unable to pick –up your jersey at that time you will be able to pick it up on the morning of the ride at the Red Rider/VIP registration area.
Will there be SAG vehicles? There will be plenty of SAG vehicles along the route to assist you if you with light mechanical support or if you are unable to continue doing the ride.

you plan to park at Champion Nissan, please be advised that it will be on a
grass lot. If you plan to park at Katy Mills Mall, please park and then ride your
bike down to the start/ registration area at Champion Nissan Katy.

Choose from one of five distances: CST Group 10 mile family loop, 27, 47, 63 or 100 miles. All of our routes feature plenty of well stocked rest stops, restrooms and mechanical, medical and mobile support. The 10 Mile Family Loop is an easy ride for beginners touring the outer Katy area. The 27, 47 & 63 mile routes will have gentle rolling hills through the scenic countryside. The 100 mile route includes much of the other routes with some additional hill work from Cat Springs to Bellville. You will have a quick ride on the Coushatte roller coaster before you head back to the Champion Nissan finish line. The Route closes at 3:00 p.m. and there is no support after the close time.
