Walk
in Sugar Land Area

HOW TO FIND US:
It appears that the GPS is sending everyone to the back side of the museum. You will not find us back there.
Please keep University Blvd. in your sights and stay in front of the museum. There are 2 driveways into the parking lot. When facing the Museum, we will be at the left entrance, south side of the parking lot at the Museum of Natural Science on University Blvd.
Coming from 59S, pass Branford Pl., be in the left-hand lane at this point. You will then cross over a bridge. Take the first left hand turn after the bridge. It will sneak up on you. This is the entrance that you will find us gathering at. There is a Museum of Natural Science sign there although it is small and easy to miss in crazy rush hour traffic……...
The walk is approx. 1 1/2 hr. There is no restroom, so please plan accordingly.
We will walk on a paved concrete path and hike a 3-4 mile loop around a huge retention pond in the Telfair Subdivision. It''s a really nice walk. There must be an animal whisperer in this neighborhood. I am seeing lots of turtles by the bridges just waiting to be fed....., nutria, an alligator and you will see all kinds of migrating birds here and there. The hike will take a little over an hour.
This trail is fully exposed so make sure that you wear sun protection and bring water.
Wear comfortable walking shoes or those new hiking boots that you are trying to break in for that next big trip!
Bring cash, as we sometimes go grab a bite to eat.
