Approximately 5 miles total out and back between Dairy Ashford and Wilcrest on mostly shaded trails. It will take about 2 hours (about 24 min miles). You should be able to briskly walk a flat trail before attending this event.
NOTE: If you plan to use this event as backpacking training, you should be able to keep up with the pace of the group with the weight you decide to bring.
About the Trail:
This is great for hikers looking to train or just stay in shape. We will be sharing the trail with runners and mountain bikers so it is best to keep the group small. We have trail choices with plenty of up and down to vary our workout.
There are no restrooms on the trail or in the parking lot but there are gas and convenience stores nearby.
If it rains or is too muddy, I will need to cancel. Check the calendar before you head out. (we can't hike on wet trails because it causes erosion and is expensive to fix)
Wear runners, trail runners, or hiking boots. It is better to have your hands free so please bring a back, waist or shoulder water carrier and at least 1-liter water.

Cooling towel
Towel, a fresh shirt, and a change of shoes for after. Most times we go to Doux Cafe for coffee and Crepes.
