Friday, December 13th Flight #UA1858 departs IAH at 2:20 pm Arrives Nashville 4:15 pm
Check into the hotel (Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown) on 4th Ave.
Friday evening we will walk up and down Broadway for the evening listening to great bands and evening getting in some dancing. Stores are open late if you want to purchase a new pair of boots!
Or you can do what you want. Relax at the hotel if you’ve had a long week.
Saturday, December 14 Get up early eat breakfast and head out at 6:00 am to Rock Island state Park to see their beautiful waterfall.
Dress in layers. It will start out cold. Plan on it being in high 30’s in the morning and evenings and up to 40’s mid-day. Check the weather as we get closer.
The drive is about two hours. We have two (2) short hikes planned. The Upstream hike is ½ mile. The Downstream hike is 1 ½ mile round trip.
There are also other State Parks within an hour’s drive that we can also visit if time permits and the entire group agrees to keep going.
Saturday evening you are on your own to discover all that Nashville has to offer (the hotel is centrally located and you can get too many places on foot) or just relax for the evening after taking in the beautiful state parks.
Sunday, December 15 morning we will enjoy breakfast together. Spend Sunday the way you want.
I Ray & I will be going to the Texans vs. Titans game. If you can get tickets, come with us for tailgating and the game. We will meet everyone back at the hotel at 1:30 to head to the airport at 2:00 to head back to Houston.
Sunday, December 15th Flight UA620 departs Nashville at 4:24 pm and arrives in Houston 6:41 pm to Houston, TX (IAH)
This is a short, fun weekend getaway. Hope you’ll join us.
Travel Information you will be responsible for:
1) Your flight on United Airlines (see above flight times above in red). The current price is $497 r/t (in Economy) not Basic… which is cheaper, but doesn’t guarantee many options like overbooking. You can get bumped if they overbook. It happened to a friend.
2) Sharing car rental and fuel approximately $50.00
