End of the Year Camping

It will be fun to recap the year and have a pre-new years eve event! 

Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday and relax with your BCO buddies & a little nature. Brackenridge Recreation Complex is the home of two parks, Brackenridge Park and Campground and Texana Park and Campground, both of which are situated on beautiful Lake Texana. Guests are able to use the amenities at either park during our stay.  We will be on the waterside, the sites have water and electric and allow 6 tents. 

There will be hiking, biking (both road & mountain), geocaching, fishing, potluck dinners and whatever else we can think up!  Stay tuned for new events to be added and see you there!

We will be holding a potluck dinner on Saturday night!  Let us know in your RSVP (comment section) what you are bringing. This is a BYOB event, so bring your favorite drink.  This is not a state park, so we are allowed to have/drink alcohol, but no glass is allowed, so please plan accordingly.  

Saturday after dinner, if there is interest, we will have a short, easy team scavenger hunt.


We will all need to stop in and register at the office.  The campground has locked gates, we will send you the code before the Event.
Try to carpool if you can, and if you are coming late, know you may have to pay a bit extra for a parking pass if all the sites already have 2 cars on them.  Check-in time is 1:00 pm on Friday.  We can have fires, so bring firewood if you can.  Quiet time is from 11 PM - 8 AM. Glass containers are not allowed in the park.

What to bring: 
Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, headlamp, bug spray, day pack, water bottle (if you want to hike), food for the weekend, your pot luck dish, a folding chair, silverware and dishes to eat on.  Don't forget about coffee needs in the morning. Optional: Jet boil (good for instant coffee and oatmeal in the morning)
This is a rain or shine event, so bring rain gear and a jacket for the evening.  It can be windy on the water.  
When you decide what to bring for the pot luck, please edit your registration for the event and add your dish to the comments so we will have an idea of what is needed.  Be sure and bring all you need to prepare and serve your dish. 
If someone wants to sign up to bring paper plates, plastic ware, and napkins for the pot luck that would be awesome.
Fee: $21 per tent. In the notes section, please indicate if a 2nd person is joining you and their name.  You may use $5 of BCO credits.

Refunds: 90% if we find someone to take your spot, else no refunds.  Note: to find a replacement, we need at least 2 days' notice to ensure gear and food restrictions can be accommodated.
